Description

This session will cover everything you need to know about medical source statements and how you can make these work for you.  First, you will learn the Agency regulations and prominent case law related to medical source statement.  Second, you will learn how to adapt the traditional treating physician rule to “non-acceptable medical sources,” including the easily overlooked “nurse practitioner.”  Finally armed with the Agency regulations, you will learn how to get the most effective medical source statement.

Adriana M. de la Torre has extensive experience with the Social Security Administration, obtained in both public service and private practice. Before going into private practice in Indianapolis, Indiana, Adriana worked for the Office of the General Counsel for the Social Security Administration in Region V, Chicago. In this capacity, she represented the Agency in federal district and appellate courts primarily in the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. She also provided counsel and other legal services to the Commissioner, Regional Commissioner, the Regional Chief Administrative Law Judge and their staffs, as well as the field offices throughout the seven-state area in Region V, Chicago. Currently, Adriana is a co-founder and member of The de la Torre Law Office LLC. In this capacity, she represents individuals before federal administrative agencies. Her practice largely focuses on Social Security appeals to district courts in a number of jurisdictions.
